Symptom
Installing Zend Server 5.0 or upgrading to Zend Server 5.0 from Zend Server 4.0.x and entering an old license key generates the following error:
The feature 'codetracing' is not enabled by the serial number (<my license number>)
Technical Details
This error is a result of entering a license key generated for a previous Zend Server version. Older keys may allow Zend Server 5.0 to run however some newer features such as code tracing can be disabled and a new Zend Server 5.0 license key should be used.
Resolution
Login to your account under Zend.com site and navigate to MyZend screen.
You should see the newly generated license for Zend Server 5.x.
Register this license data in Zend Server using the administraion UI.
